On May 17th at the Harbourfront Centre in Toronto, Brooke and I learned that our book made the top three for the Forest of Reading Blue Spruce Award! It was such an incredible day meeting other authors and seeing hundreds of excited readers. Jess Keating’s book, The Shark Lady, took the Blue Spruce prize and I am now a devoted follower of hers on Instagram.
